Mixed Media Monday-Feathered Friends

Wood Carved Quail
With this being the challenge I couldn't help but show another one of my wood carvings, The quail is carved from tupelo gum, a soft wood, I map out my feather groupings then I wood burn all the feathers ,seal and paint it. the top notch is also carved from wood but I insert a metal rod through the center for strength, the feet are soldered and covered with an epoxy.the rock with petrogliffs is also carved from wood. These take me a couple of months to complete.I promise this will be the last of my carvings for awhile.
