Faux Meerschaum Ornaments

If you have been following me for very long you may have remember where I did a post about making the best molds and castings? Well I spent some time in my studio making some new things up with that same technique. Inspired by the art of Meerschaum,  carved around the 1800's in France. These are stunning pieces of art. I recreated mine making my molds and castings form vintage statures. Heres just a few I put together.

you can find these and more on my etsy site.

Any Information Helpful

So I'm trying to find some information about a pair of very old socks
I purchased at an Estate Sale.
A Dr. whose home was filled with antiques.
They are cotton, have lovely lace looking tops and the what I thought was embroidery is actually done in tiny beads. I can't read the writing though.

I found a couple more on the internet that look very similar to mine.
They are from Germany 1848.
They have the same type of lace at the top. etc.
Heres one more from Switzerland 1860.

So can anyone tell me anything about mine???

Club House is Finished

Entrance to the Clubhouse
at Life Church
I started this project over a year and a half ago.
The clubhouse room got put on hold until we
could figure out how to do the three walls that have sound boards on them.

This is right before you enter the clubhouse
This jeep was cut in half and attached to the wall.
I painted in the rest.
The kids Love to sit in it and have their picture taken.
This is the first wall you see when you enter the clubhouse.
Its made to look like your standing inside of a tree with the railings all around.
I painted the animals to look like they are looking over the railings.
This is the front wall I had to do this on canvas because of the sound boards.
Did I tell you how big this room is?
28 feet tall by 60 feet wide on the longest walls.
The right side of the room. Desert Vistas
The back wall done on canvas.
See the elephant peeking over the back railing!

This picture is a little washed out.
Some Rhinos and zebras running across the plains.
A close up of the watering hole with cape buffalo. and hippos.
It feels Great to be done with this job.
and the best part is the Kids Love it.
