French Bonnets

Wouldn't it be fun to be able to wear the beautiful bonnets and dresses of Yesteryear. Well all except for the corsets. LOL This is a canvas I did.
I flipped it over and worked on the backside.
Using another New Release from Oxford Impressions
Regency Fashion plate.
I thought how fun to include embellishments that a hat maker might use.
Vintage feathers and flowers and even some netting were a must for the well dressed woman of the day.
I colored the images using Watercolor markers technique from Technique Junkies.
Background paper from Graphics 45.
Its my entry
This week on The Play Date Cafe
Challenge #68

This is gorgeous, but I am not so sure about the bonnets - I think they would not look so good on me!

lovely picture Lynn,so pretty with the added bits, I think I need a corset to hold all my love handles in, either that or I need to give up the chocolates

The canvas is gorgeous...and the embellishments are perfection!
(Love the stamps, but just know I wouldn't be able to pull off a bonnet:)

Whew, if yesteryear's clothes and bonnets were as awesome as this creation ... I'd be happy to wear them (though I agree the corset would be miserable).

Its gorgeous Lynn and thank you for the tip about using the other side of the canvas. But no I wouldn't want to wear bonnets or those dresses, too much effort...lol Annette x

Very neat. A bonnet would be perfect for me right now since I am trying to grow out my hair from a short angled bob cut. Hope you have a very Happy Valentines Day!

Hi Lynn,

So very pretty! I love Oxford Press stamps, but I had to stop buying them as it seems I was collecting them and not using them.....LOL Thank God for prolific crafters like you who make good use of them.

I know you don't live out here, but if you wouldn't mind posting a button for my bloggers luncheon, I would appreciate it. You can find it on my current post.

Have a great Valentine's Day!

Hugs,
Meri

This is fabulous, Lynn! For sure no corsets, but I think I would just be too fussy with that much gear on!!! But to get dressed up like that for an hour and have a photo taken, too cool! Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day GF! Hugs!

amazing work, Lynn! I am so loving your boxes of late. And now off to OI for a look at those new stamps.

As a side note, I still have my hats I've worn through the years, it is fun to take them out every now and then...
