I'm coming in just under the wire for my entry this week at
Simon Says Stamp and Show Fly challenge.
No its not done by Jen Crossley.
I've never had the pleasure of taking any of her classes
but I sure would LOVE to!!
But it is modeled after her birdhouse pendants.
Of course putting my own spin on things.
This was for a dear friend who recently underwent surgery.
I just got word she received it so now I can show you all.
While it would make perfect sense to use a piece of
brass or copper pipe for the birdhouse.
I didn't have any on hand. My DH let me cut up one of his brass shell casings.
I used a stamp from I Brake for Stamps to do the metal etching.
I have a tutorial on how to do that you can find it HERE.
I would usually use my jewelers torch to weld everything in place.
But some of the materials I used were aluminum
so went with the cold connection process instead.
Its supposed to rain all weekend so I'll be catching up
with my favorite blogs then!
UPDATE... Just heard I made the Top 3 at Simon Says!
Yea!!!! Thank you for that and for having a venue to share
our love of art.

Oh Lynn, it's so, so gorgeous! I just spent over $125 at Retro Cafe Art and got my baby sister all kinds of shrines and skeleton goodies for the birthday she just had. I couldn't keep what I got her a secret and showed her everything. I did not realize I had shopped there multiple times in the past few years.....I thought I had found a whole new store by reading your blog...how dense am I....geez.
I'm itchin' to do another swap with you girlfriend, maybe in the next month or so after I find out what's wrong with me (see blog).
Hugs,
Meri
