Its Layers, Well I just happen to have an Altered piece I did with lots of layers. paint and crackle paint layers, paper and stamped layer, fabric layers, glass and metal layers, I think that covers just about everything. Oh the stamps are from Oxford Impressions O.k. I didn't just make it but I've never shown it. That's because I had mailed it off to Somerset Studios to hopefully be published in the Halloween issue and Great news I heard from a reliable source that it is!! I haven't received my copy yet but I'm watching my mailbox!

Don't Ever Grow Up
My sample from the Neverland plate is an altered book with a heart cut out that
I added a stamped image to. I did with Antique Glimmers technique from TJ.
Some of Tim Holtz grunge flourishes covered with real silver glitter
Neverland plate is available here at Artistic Outpost .
There is a brand new selection of vintage trims. I used some on both my samples .
You can find those here
Neverland PlateNeverland features images from the fairytale land that is home to Peter Pan. The Darling children are also featured with a lovely ATC sized collage of Wendy and a perfect flying illustration of John and Michael. Think of the scenes you create with these adorable kiddos including an intense conversation between Wendy and Peter. Don't ever grow up!!!
Shes A Good Witch Box
My sample for the New and my personal favorite Haunted Halloween plate is a fold out Box card. It was so fun to make. I also added the stamped fence from Vintage Halloween on a piece of acetate.
Haunted Halloween is a Victorian inspired collection with vintage witch illustration a cane-swinging dapper skeleton, and a haunted home that could be used without the scary subtext. Other collage images include a bat border collage and sentiments.

Here's the deets.
For tag Tuesday I used all fabric for my tag, Did a fabric transfer for my image , For Studio L 3 I added the grunge paper wing and scroll both by TH covered with Rock Candy Distress stickles ( I assure you its there even though it doesn't photograph well). The stamp is from I see Paris Image plate from Stampers Anonymous. For Simon Says Did the Grungepaper rose at the top used the memo holder scroll and wings for Vecchi style. I guess that about covers it.

Well if your ready for a laugh and who isn't? Shelly at Bungalow Bling has the funniest contest going on right now. If your a hoarder and brave enough to show your stuff you might just win a prize, but this isn't just for Hoarders, its also for projects gone wrong, Well to be honest most of my projects gone wrong hit the trash before the glue is even dried.
But I do have a little something to share. I Love old vintage hats, The kind with Gorgeous flowers that I can pluck and use in my art. Well, I had one that was looking a little dingy and because its white I thought I'd give it a little cleaning, you know hand wash it in some Delicare should do the trick. Here is my result.
WARNING.... Not for the Faint at Heart
Never wash a vintage hat. the glue they used back then just turned to goo, the flowers? well you see for yourself. This has been sitting on my dresser for 5 months. I just can't bare to toss it out. How sad...
Now go have a good laugh!!!

I thought long and hard about what I was going to make for the very first challenge at Simon Says . The theme is Things with wings. Here's what I came up with!
A side shot!
A close up.
The crown is made from mat board covered with wallpaper that I distressed. Then I began adding all the nature inspired items, but I could resist the Music paper with the Dove name and flower label.
I had a heck of a time trying to photograph this. These are the best shots I could come up with.
Oh to have a better camera!!!!

Studio L 3 has chosen Distress Crackle for the flavor of the week. I did a coaster with this mermaid image and some German scrap from Alpha Stamps. I have to confess I did this for a swap but a perfect way to combine the two.

You may have remembered a month or so ago I posted that I had some exciting news to share. Well its time.. I have been commissioned to illustrate a children's book. Can you believe it? YEAH!!!! My first book. Its a darling story about plants and wild herbs and how they help our planet. Geared towards 8 to 10 years olds. The story is about a momma and baby flower she refers to as Sprout and takes you through the cycle of life. Here's just a couple of double page spreads I did for the book.
As soon as I find out more about the publication information I will let you know.
The author is Becky Palmer.
Update on Miracle
As you can see our little Miracle is doing well!!! That's what we named her. She is 12 days old today.. She has a healthy appetite for flies and baby chick feed and loves to stand on my feet ,She follows me whenever I take her outside. I really am her mom.
Here's a picture of her standing on my DH shoes.

That I won recently in her giveaway!
She also sent along these fun Jolee's clocks. Thank you so much Kim.

Also last week I was in a craft store with my GF and waiting for her to check out. Thumbing through the newest edition of Scrap and Stamp I let out a squeal and scared my GF (sorry Debbie), Saw they had published one of my cards. I started by doing the background using a TJ technique Antique Wallpaper with the stars embossing plate. Added some Graphic 45 papers for more of the background and whats a theatre piece without some of Tim's movie real tape. The stamps were all stamped on tissue with Distress inks than mounted to some foam core pieces I cut out and covered with beeswax. I do hope you join me this month while I share the art I did with these wonderful images!
