Lace and Fibers Box

Don't you just Love Lace? The old vintage lace that has just the touch of creamy color to it? That's what inspired my Lace bird box and gift cards. On Gingersnap Creations you can see lots of beautiful samples using Lace and fibers.
For my box I covered an old cigar box with lace paper, vintage lace pieces and torn music sheets to make a little nest for this sweet bird to perch atop. A little glitz with some glitter twigs. The cards were made using torn papers collaged and some bird images from Retro Cafe Arts. If a couple of these cards look familiar that's because they were published in the Christmas issue of Somerset Studios For info on how to make them check out the Christmas issue!

WHAT IS ONE WORLD ONE HEART?
Lisa created this event in 2007. The original idea behind this giveaway event was to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way. 2007 had roughly 85-90 participants and many connections were made because of it......friendships that are still going strong.
We had a strong showing the first year for sure, and then in 2008 we had just about tripled that number. In 2009 there were 911 participants, to say I was amazed is an understatement. 28 countries were represented in the 2009 event as well.
See Lisa's blog for even more information.

Glad you could join us! Here's my Valentine Tag using some great stamps from The Artistic Stamper Even the paper flowers were stamped with both sequin waste stamps before I assembled them. I used the Quote, mini hearts, background heart and large framed heart to create my Valentine tag. Have fun at the hop!!! So here's the scoop!!

Welcome to the Gingersnap Creations’ Valentine Blog Hop and Hop Stop #7!

If you’ve already been hopping then hopefully you have just come from Laura at As Happy As...
If you are starting here, welcome! It's a loop so you can start anywhere along the way!

At each stop, you need to collect a word! There are 9 stops in all starting and ending with the Gingersnap Creations
blog where you can get all the specific information and get a peak at the the goodies in the Valentine Giveaway including some treats from The Artistic Stamper

When you get all your words, 9 in all, unscramble them to form a quotation about love. Once you have your guess at the quote, email it and your name to gingersnapstamp@gmail.com by February 20, 2010. We will be picking one lucky winner at random from the correct entries to win the Valentine Giveaway package!

If you visit all the stops, you should end up right back at Gingersnap Creations
with 9 words! Unscramble the words to come up with a love quote and email it on to gingersnapstamp@gmail.com. That's all there is to it!

If you get lost along the way, you can see the entire route at Gingersnap Creations.

Monogram Tag

Well the days seem to just be flying by anymore. I managed to get a tag put together for Tag Tuesday at Kard Krazy.
The theme is Monogram. I decided on the Dabbed Shimmers and Metallic Pop techniques from the new issue at TJ
for this one. Combing a few different challenges together. My stamp is from I Brake For Stamps.
My Monogram letter F is a chipboard letter covered with dp. The flower is made by stamping on crept paper and cutting out circles held together with a brad. I'll have to share how to do the fringe in a tutorial soon, My friend Inka shared this one with me!

Altered Glove Hanging

I had so much fun creating this piece for the lace challenge atGingersnap Creations
This month we have a wonderful sponsor. Jennie from Artistic Stamper based in the U.K. She provided the beautiful stamps I used in this piece. When I think of lace I think of Victorian elegance and whats more elegant than a vintage glove? I did a transfer of the wonderful stamped woman on a piece of Sheer Heaven then chalked it before transferring it to the glove, added buttons, a bit of vintage lace and stamped the text inside the vintage bead work piece, added satin flower and tulle. A hat pin and some text finish it off. It hangs from a silk ribbon.
Watch for more wonderful art all month on the Gingersnap Creations blog and here too.

Personalized Altered Dolls and ATC Class

What a Fun night I had, tonight was our monthly get together with the Designing Divas! It was Inka from Altered Artifacts
turn to do a project, and what a project she did!!! She came up with the most amazing idea. She spent hours on her computer making these dolls, in each of our images. We cut them out of card stock and decorated each one to suit us. So now I have my very own "Lynn" Paper doll. So can you pick mine out yet? Hint.. I'm wearing pantaloons! LOL, she also sent me a picture of me with my doll, but honestly I need a new doo, so sorry gals no photo tonight. Be on the watch for Inka to make these available to the public on Etsy soon, YES you too can have your very own paper doll in your likeness!!!. Wouldn't these just be adorable as a Bride and Groom set for a wedding celebration?
