Family is the Key- Grungy Monday

They say necessity is the mother of invention and in this case its true.
I have been wanting to purchase some of Tim's new glassine paper,
but with not being able to work much this year and funds short
I decide to try something different.
I purchased some natural Wax paper at our local Co-Op (psst.. Linda works there)
and stamped on it with Adirondack ink and viola it worked!!!
It is a bit lighter but when mounted on a darker piece of CS it looks the same.
I created this card for Linda's challenge at Studio L 3 Grungy Monday #13.
Working with one of my favorite of Tim's techniques Alcohol inks.
Heres a link if you'd like to see  Tim's Demo
I used acetate and Tim's texture fade then applied the alcohol inks.
I also did another one of Tim's techniques in creating the Faux woodblock.
Borrowed the idea of clips on my butterfly's from my blog friend Tracy at Craft Addicts

  6. Woo hoo! Thanks for not only being an incredible and inspiring artist, but also for supporting your local Co-op! I'm going to buy some of that waxed paper when I get off work today and hope I can make something 1/10th as gorgeous with it as you did. This is wonderful, Lynn, from the colors to the embossing to the GM13 technique to the faux woodblock. Brilliant, as always!

  24. What a great idea. I am determined to learn some techniques of mixed media art...now that I have been lurking around for about a year or so!!! I love glassine but it is so expensive...and I don't see it anywhere around...so I guess I go to the co-op!!! What a great piece and a super idea. I am so glad you got in Handcrafted. Love the schoolhouse. I love all Stampington mags but this is my fave.
