A Great Weekend

I had the best weekend. On Saturday I got together with my partner in crime Debbie to do a little antique hunting, we hit an Antique sale and a few yard sales. Here's a couple of my finds! Some vintage jewelry
Some antique buttons and for only 5 cents a card who could resist!
Two old clocks. The one on the left still works!
A great old case for $2.00
A vintage velvet hat. I added the pin later.
A beautiful Marie doll who stands about 14"tall (well if her legs were still attached)LOL. I plan on altering her up a bit! Can you believe 25 cents! wooohoooo
A sweet doll with a hand crochet dress, hat and parasol.
Another old doll. missing an arm. I guess I felt sorry for her and couldn't pass her up.

On Sunday I got together with my new blogging buddy's Linda and Christine who just happen to live close by. We met at Christine's home. She had a fun project planned with spindles to hold ATC's. We also did some stamping and enjoyed some yummy goodies. Here's Linda with her finished spindle.
and Christine with hers.
I made these little tussie mussies for the girls. Linda gave us a great wooden cigar box and we all exchanged atcs for out new spindles.
Thanks Ladies for a Great weekend!

You and Debbie find the best treasures. The doll with the crochet outfit is called a "Storybook Doll." I have several. Santa brought me one for each Christmas several years in a row. They always came in a polka dot decorated box and they were very popular back in the '40s. Most of my dolls went by the wayside, but my Storybook dolls were special and our kids did not get to play with them.

5 cents a card, you're killing me! I love those old style garage sales where things are just a quarter and dime and such. If you're going to sell it that cheap, why not give it away but I just love it when I find those deals!

Lynn, if I were the jealous type I would be sooooo jealous but always seen it as such a waste of time to be that way - so what I will say is amazing finds and in your hands you will create the most astonishing artwork. Cannot wait for you to share your results. Lynne M x

I came by last night and was admiring your loot!!! I'm coming up there to go garage sale-ing! I absolutely love the little doll with the crocheted dress, hat and parasol... if you're interested in selling her let me know! I've started collecting dolls. It started out to take them apart, but I just couldn't do it. Now I collect them just to enjoy them and make clothes for them. Marva
